Q: The login screen looks different, is this new? Why is this being changed?
A: We are in the process of upgrading to a new logon system. Over the next few months we hope to upgrade all our sites to use the new system. The new Single Sign-on system allows for a user to log in once and be able access any of the sites they have permissions to use without having to log in again.

Q: Will I have to log in more than once a session?
A: On any site upgraded to Single Sign On this will no longer be necessary, however if you are using sites that have not yet been upgraded you will be prompted to login with the legacy authentication when visiting those sites.

Q: Will I have to sign in every time I come back to the site?
A: If cookies are enabled on your browser and the "Sign me in automatically" checkbox was checked while signing in you will not need to login again until your session expires. (8 hours by default) However, your user id, usually your email address, will be remembered by the system and you should only need to type your password to sign-in.

Q: What if I use a public computer? Is it safe to use the "Sign me in automatically" feature?
A: We do not recommend using the "Sign me in automatically" feature if you are using a public computer and do not believe the site should even remember your user id in this case. A checkbox labeled "Do not remember my e-mail address for future sign-in." has been provided at the bottom of the sign-on page. When using a public computer please use this checkbox to provide more security.

Q: Is the cookie on my machine safe? Could someone find and read its contents?
A: Your session cookie is protected with very strong encryption (1024-bit) using an RSA encryption algorithm.
